Efficacy and Safety Study of Ciprofloxacine on Upper Respiratory Tract Infection and Urinary Tract Infection

Abstract

Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotics which has a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against most of gram negative and partial gram positive bacteria
We administered ciprofloxacin to 20 patients of upper respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection from June to October, 1991, and studied the efficacy and safety. Most of patients took 250-500 mg ciprofloxacin twice a day¢¥ for about 2 weeks.
Overall efficacy was excellent 11(55%), good 6(30%), and totally 85% of effective rate. There is no serious adverse reaction during the treatment.
In conclusion, Ciprofloxacin was effective in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection.
